FRUSOP in Limbo
The Free Range Ukulele Society of Oak Park (FRUSOP) Meetup† is now doing virtual meetups will have our forty-second meetup. More about that below. We're doing this to bring together people who love to play—or want to learn to play—the ukulele, to sing, and to have fun. This page is meant to explain how we're trying to do that.
This page is evolving. For those of you who don't believe in such things, the Webmaster is being inspired—he likes that better anyway. Point is, please read everything, i.e., Don't Skim.
We are changing the way we announce song-sheet packets becuase it doesn't make sense to maintain two systems. Now there will be a single page to go to. There will be a link to that page on the current Meetup.com meetup page, and also below when it becomes avaiable. We will return to the original system when in-person meetups resume.
Print the packets, and play the songs. Or put the packets on your computer or tablet, and play the songs. Please do not publish the link to the packets, or re-publish the packets. We're trying to be very careful about sharing music because, even though no one is making money doing this, sites have been shut down for putting up music. Please understand and act accordingly.
FRUSOP Goes Zooming
Beginning at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th, 2021, FRUSOP will have a Zoom/Meetup. The link to all the details wiil be found here. Please check this page often. Go to this week's Zoom/Meetup meeting details page to download the song-sheet packets and link Zoom. By the way, this is called, “Joining the meeting.” You do not need a Zoom account to join. However, if you have a Zoom account, be sure to log into it before joining the meeting so you have access to more options than you would have otherwise.
If you're a Meetup member, we would still appreciate your RSVP.
We are soliciting participants to sign-up to lead songs. Please check this page often to find out how to do that. This should be done before the Zoom/Meetup begins. You'll find out how to do that on the Zoom/Meetup meeting details page.
Related Website Page
This website has a Listening Library page (the “Listening” option in the site menu on the left). FRUSOP members are being very creative and coming up with songs dealing with Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Here is where you can give them a listen. There will also be links to other songs that are in song-sheet packets.
We are totally open to ideas! Anything to keep FRUSOP alive and interesting. Send them to Chris & AlvinContact Chris McIntosh or Alvin McGovern through the Members option on the Meetup.com website.
